What's this now? The Backstreet Boys are going to be playing at the state fair... Squee! I am a nerdy old BSB fan and I'm sooooo getting tickets. Anyone else?
Thought I would share this photo too... I've been having fun playing with the water faucet in my kitchen. I'm kind of a dork. Maybe today, though I'll actually make it outside to take some photos. Haha... who knows!
*sigh* If only i had a better lens for last night. This would have been a very excellent night for lots of pictures. But still... I kind of like this one. It gives the feeling of yep, we are quite far away...
There's an article in the Strib today about my wallyball league... check it out!

Here's a little random piece of information:
For my surgery in August my insurance company was charged $33,391.61 and the insurance company paid out $11,717.71... and between all that, all I ever owed were three co-pays. Amazing.

Happy Thanksgiving... and first real snow!
Today is one of those days where I'm just not feeling like doing anything. In fact, I don't have all that much to do for the last three hours of the day. Thank you, Thanksgiving holiday, for making my life a little easier for a change.
Okay... So, I've finally self published my first photo book. Check it out... buy one if you're interested (I recommend the hardcover, it's nicer) and pass the info along to others you think might be interested!
Did you see? Yesterday's sunrise. So beautiful! I just thought I would share this with everyone :-)
Poor boo cat is sick. I took him to the vet this morning (btw, thanks Jaime for the recommendation) and they don't seem to think it's as bad as I thought it was. I was so afraid that afraid that he had gotten a stone or something and would die before I could get him anywhere. Luckily the vet thinks it's just an inflamed bladder. But anyway, Boo is currently at the vet's office getting some extra attention and lots of fluids so that they can do a test to figure out if he's got anything besides what they believe is wrong with him. I hate to leave him anywhere but at home... I miss him and I can't wait to get him back... even if he is going to be an expensive kitty.
there's nothing like seeing the most perfect little red bush just hanging out on campus. I may have to send this photo to some of my coworkers in the communications department at work. They've been despertly looking for fall type pictures around campus because apprently none exhist. Go figure.
Anyway, I'm starting to forsee a slight slow down in my workload soon. I can't wait. I mean, I like the money and all that, but I can't wait to have a little down time for myself.

Just thought I would share the cupcakes I made tonight!
The weather has been so gloomy lately. It hasn't done much good for my picture taking in the last few days. I'm looking forward to rain. Or sunshine... either one I need a good day of... preferable when I have a day off so I can actually be out taking photos as opposed to being stuck inside the office and looking out the window wishing I was outside taking photos.
Anyway, so it looks like work constantly continues on the new gopher stadium... Anyone want to take bets on when it will actually be finished?

I got my polarizer filter in the mail yesterday. YeaY! I'm so excited to have a toy to go with my camera. Seriously, I love polarizers. They make colors so pretty.
Come back another day...
There's something about an old abandoned/condemned building that makes me want to take a picture of it. This building, apparently, used to be the Music Education building. It's too bad it's condemned. It would be quite a lovely building if it were to be fixed up.
I went to Como Zoo and Conservatory during one of the breaks in the rain. I love going there. Even if it's freezing outside it's warm and cozy inside. There are just so many pretty things to look at too. The Conservatory houses at least a couple of my favorite sculptures including the one in the picture. With all the flowers everywhere, you can't help but feel good even on a super dreary day. I also went out to see the animals too. The cats are always my favorite and yesterday they were pretty much all sleeping. They make me think of my two hairballs sleeping all the time.
Today I'm still hoping to make it to the walker sculpture garden. I haven't been there in ages which means i haven't taken pictures there in just as long.
Other than that I'll be spending the day finishing edits on the wedding photos I took last weekend. I plan on having them in the mail tomorrow.
I've been selling prints to my coworkers which is great. I'm hoping to continue to sell prints to people over the next couple months. I really need to make some extra money. So, if anyone needs Christmas pictures taken this year... I'm you girl! For $20 I'll give you at least 4-5 good photos.

There's something absolutely beautiful about a rainbow. I was driving home last night from while it was raining when I looked up and realized that the sun had come out from behind the rain cloud. At that moment I knew there would be a rainbow. As I kept driving along, I kept thinking to myself that I need to get home so i can take pictures of this. Then, all the sudden, i looked over and there was THIS! I hurriedly pulled a U-turn and parked my car on the side of the road and began taking photos of the rainbows. *sigh* sometimes nature amazes me.
PS. You'll probably see lots of posts like this because I'm in love with my new camera. Thank you my Nikon D40.

So, I was driving down Lexington last night looking for potential photo opps when i stumbled across the dairy queen at Laurpenter and Lexington and I just couldn't help myself. Between the lights and the shininess of the wet ground, I had to stop and shoot just a couple photos. I have a feeling I'll be driving out that way again tonight. There may be a series in this for me.... Maybe lights at night? I'll let you know when the book is published ;-)
